Fort Hays State University runs a yearly Kansans poll in order to find the opinions of Kansas residents about the issues of the day and their feeling about the government. While many had expected Sam Brownback's popularity to be low, most within the statehouse believed there was a "hard floor" somewhere in the low 20s for Brownback due to dedicated Republican voters who would back him on single issue items regardless of any other failing.
What Sam Brownback is discovering those is that core of support is also struggling in the current environment his statehouse has set forward.
Only 18 percent of state residents said they were “very” or “somewhat satisfied” with GOP Gov. Sam Brownback.
“This could be some of the lowest approval ratings of any Kansas governor in history,” he (Bob Beatty, Political Scientist) said.
