Sam Brownback Hopeful of Solution, Says He's Working Hard

Sam Brownback says tells me he's been working hard all morning, meeting with leaders and trying to craft a solution. Still, before lunch despite the blazing heat, the governor just needed to step outside and handle his own thoughts.  

"I'm trying to clear my head. Just needed the fresh air".  When I pressed the governor as to how it was going in the meetings he informed me he believed progress could be made.

A few minutes earlier, Senator Donovan was telling lobbyists to not jump over the guardrail and plummet to their death "it's not worth it", the senator told them.
